What are teens longing for?
"1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6–17 experience
a mental health disorder each year.
53,000 South Carolinians age 12 - 17 have depression. High school students with depression are more than 2x more likely to drop out than their peers. 56.2% of South Carolinians age 12–17 who have depression did not receive any care in the last year."

Live, Love, Listen!
Research consistently reports the strength of emotional connection is at the top of the ingredient list for lasting relationships. What do we need to keep us together in the 10 big areas of life: family, wealth, romance, health/fitness, growth/learning, social life, career/business, enjoyment, environment, and spirituality?
Family counseling offers hope in strengthening emotional connections, encouraging healthy interactions, and improving parent/child relationships. Through family therapy, I am able to offer a neutral safe place to problem solve and establish new family life patterns. I use an eclectic and integrative approach to family therapy.
The weight of change on the internal system.
"More than half of Americans report
that COVID-19 has had a negative
impact on their mental health.
In February 2021, 37.6% of adults in
South Carolina reported symptoms of anxiety or depression.
23.3% were unable to get needed counseling or therapy. "

You are not alone.
"About 6 out of every 100 people (or 6% of the U.S. population) will have PTSD at some point in their lives. Many people who have PTSD will recover and no longer meet diagnostic criteria for PTSD after treatment. About 5 out of every 100 adults (or 5%) in the U.S. has PTSD in any given year. In 2020, about 13 million Americans had PTSD. Women are more likely to develop PTSD than men. About 8 of every 100 women (or 8%) and 4 of every 100 men (or 4%) will have PTSD at some point in their life. This is in part due to the types of traumatic events that women are more likely to experience compared to men."

Hi! Thanks for dropping in! We all have a story that includes the pains of this life. Whether a child or adolescent facing the fears and struggles of growing, discovering your identity, or adjusting to changes within family, I want to offer an accepting and encouraging environment where you will feel safe to share your stories, process your struggles, and find new hope and purpose. For those of you realizing that adulting has its own struggles filled with anxiety, depression, and grief, I want to offer you a place to be yourself as we discover ways to navigate them.
My goal to help & encourage others grew out of teaching, training, & serving children, youth, & parents for more than 20 years in the education and ministry fields. With a desire to encourage holistic wellness across the family unit, I completed my studies in professional counseling through Liberty University in 2019. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to encourage & walk alongside children, adolescents, & adults as they navigate life's challenges towards fearless hope, fearless grace, & fearless transformation.
In this chapter of my life, I continue to enjoy being a wife, mom of four, grandmother of five..., sister, and aunt. My downtime includes playing music, caring for our pets, pickle ball, adventures with my hubby, and memory-making moments with my children, grandchildren, and extended family. My story, like many others, includes heights of joy, depths of sorrow, and calm moments in between.
